Import and export
Import
Project page → Import. Five steps: Source, Upload, Preview, Import, Report.
- Source: a folder of .feature files zipped from your repository (or
git archive), single .feature files, or a Behave Pro export (see Moving from Behave Pro). - Upload: the zip is opened in your browser, and only the .feature files inside are sent to Jira. Everything else is left alone.
- Preview: before anything is written you see every file, which scenarios match a story by their issue-key tag, which match none, which files have problems, and which are already in the project. The preview never imports anything.
- Import: runs in the background. You can leave the page.
- Report: the same numbers as the preview, and every file left out, by name, with the reason.
Limits
- A zip of up to 50 MB.
- Up to 16 MB of feature files once unzipped. Split a bigger project into several imports.
- Up to 1 MB for one feature file.
- Files must be UTF-8. A file in another encoding is refused by name, not silently changed.
- Paths that climb out of the folder (
../) are refused.
Undo an import
Each import can be undone from its report. Undo removes exactly what that import created. A file someone edited since is listed and left alone.
Export
- One file, from the Feature files tab, exactly as stored.
- One story's scenarios, from the story's Scenarios panel.
- The whole project as a .zip, in its folder structure, from the project page. Options: include or leave out manual scenarios, strip story tags, and choose line endings.
Export keeps working if your license lapses.
